We know that today in 2018 there are millions of people who are targeted by workplace bullying on their jobs. As a result, targets of bullying can have deteriorating health that is caused by the destructive behavior of a boss, co-worker or a group of co-workers.
So what could happen if one is bullied in the workplace: 1. Mental health suffers - people who suffer from bullying day in and day out-takes a toll on your body. Sometimes a target can suffer from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, panic attacks, anxiety, depression or paranoia. These disorders can lead to other deleterious health problems, like drug and alcohol abuse. 2. Physical health suffers - people who suffer from bullying day in and day out can have physical ailments, stressing parts of the body that impact on the person's immune system-more colds, migraine headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure and chest pain. 3. Bystanders suffer - people who observe the bullying can suffer these physical and mental effects as well. Research shows (Henning Ruiz Law Firm, 2017) that 98% of people who witness bullying become distressed by the adverse hostility even if they don't experience the bullying directly. 4. Work Performance suffer - people who are targeted or who serve as bystanders to workplace bullying, as well as the whole company environment are negatively impacted by the bullying. Bullying a target causes the target to feel low self-esteem and and to experience poor decision making with regard to job tasks. There is a lack of motivation and a desire to avoid the job. Don't you think we need to stop this process?
