Colleges and universities as well as the corporate world and health care organizations must work within their environments to address workplace bullying. While many workplaces have many policies that address specific types of behaviors and abuse like sexual harassment, which is covered under Title IX, a policy that covers threats, intimidation, repeated sabotaging or negative recurrent behaviors characterized by bullying, is not common in the workplace.
We need a workplace bullying prevention policy that will help employees feel less intimidated, will help people deal with sabotage by reporting these behaviors dealing with workplace bullying. These environments will not get rid of bullies if the bully and bystanders fear retaliation from management We need to do something about this.
