Changing Your Workplace Culture Through Diversity and Inclusion

The best diversity and inclusion practices can positively change your workplace culture (Florentine, 2019).  When companies attract diverse talent, research shows there are better results in work performance. As financial performance is improved, the federal government is required to receive diversity statistics.

Organizations now realize that in order to maintain competitiveness in the economy, diversity and inclusion are initiatives to better improve company image.

This improvement is done by the following:

  1. Establish a sense of belonging for everyone-people need a community of connections at work.

  2. Establish leaders who will reach out to all colleagues.

  3. Inclusion is an ongoing initiative-your colleagues need to learn the skills needed for advocating change on their teams.

  4. Create a culture in which every employee contributes their full potential to the organization.

In this way the workplace culture will be more civil and less toxic.
