Creating a positive climate in the classroom is very important. So here are some pointers that professors can do to make students feel more connected in the classroom

Professors ought to be positive and encourage students when they speak.

Treat everyone fairly and be sure students treat everyone fairly as well.

Keep an open relationship with students--ask how they are doing.

Help the students get to know one another.

Have an atmosphere where it is okay to ask questions.

Effectively control the students who don't want to learn and disrupt.

Treat students with respect by allowing everyone to share ideas.

In this way a  climate of learning and civility in the classroom can be achieved.
