Extending the definition of Bullying

Extending the definition of Bullying

Workplace Bullying has been referred to as repeated, unreasonable actions of an individual or a group of individuals directed towards an employee or a group of employees, that are intended to humiliate or intimidate these employees, by posing a risk to their health and safety.

However, a bully  actually employs a set of behaviors that exploit especially the ones he or she wants to bully. One can't help noticing that any repetitive behavior that is cruel is interpreted as bullying behavior--and this includes all the distortions, misrepresentations and deceit that goes along with the bully's bullying behavior. Since the goal of the bully is to destroy a colleague's status and reputation. It is my belief that the person who actually has this goal in mind is a bully.

With this in mind if we think about the people in our academic and corporate environments who want to ruin the reputations and positions of colleagues - we can now see that bullying which encompasses these goals is on the rise.
