The Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has the following information on workplace bullying:
Bullying is seen generally as acts or verbal comments that could 'mentally' hurt or isolate a person in the workplace.
Sometimes bullying can involve negative physical contact.
Bullying generally involves repeated incidents or a pattern of behavior that is intended to intimidate, offend, degrade or humiliate a particular person or group of people.
Employers have a duty to protect their employees from physical and mental risks at work.
In general behavior that is unreasonable and offends or harms any person should not be tolerated (Penney, 2017)
This is a potential guide which can be used to promote workplace bullying legislation in the United States.
